Feral Republic is a one-person studio. This page explains, in plain words, what this site and its games collect, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: very little, no ads, nothing sold.
Who’s responsible
Feral Republic, at feralrepublic.studio. Questions or requests: [email protected].
What we collect, and why
If you join the mailing list
- Your email address. You confirm it by email before you’re added.
- Kit, the service that sends the newsletter, records whether you open our emails and click links in them.
- Why: you asked to be on the list (your consent). Unsubscribe any time.
If you sign in to a game
- Your email address, to send you a one-time sign-in code.
- Your game progress (level, doubloons, boats and so on), so it follows you between devices.
- One cookie that keeps you signed in on that device for up to 90 days. It’s needed for sign-in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
- Why: to give you the account you asked for. Your sign-in email isn’t added to the mailing list, and it isn’t used for anything else.
On your own device, even without signing in
- Games save your progress, language and sound setting in your browser’s storage. It stays on your device. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it.
Counting visits
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.
- We keep a daily tally of clicks on the Play buttons, games started and book downloads: a number per day, with nothing about who clicked.
- Why: to know whether the site works (a legitimate interest).
If you email us
- We receive your message and your email address, so we can reply.
How long we keep it
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
- Game account and saved progress: until you delete the account.
- Sign-in codes: they expire after 10 minutes, work once, and are cleared out automatically.
- Sign-in sessions: they end after 90 days or when you sign out, and expired ones are cleared out automatically.
- Visit counts and click tallies: kept as totals. There’s nothing personal in them.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to help you.
Who else handles it
- Kit runs the mailing list.
- Cloudflare hosts the site, stores game accounts and progress, counts visits, and forwards email sent to our addresses. It also processes basic request data, like IP addresses, to deliver pages and block abuse.
- Resend sends sign-in codes.
These services are mostly based in the United States, so your information may be stored and processed there. We don’t sell or share your information, and there’s no advertising.
Your choices and rights
- Leave the list: use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter.
- Delete a game account: open the game’s menu and choose Delete my account. It removes your email and saved progress right away.
- Anything else: email support@ to see, correct, export or delete what we hold about you.
- If you’re in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The games are for everyone to play, but accounts and the mailing list aren’t meant for children under 13. If you’re under 13, please play without signing in. If we learn that a child under 13 has signed up, we’ll delete their information. Parents can write to support@ to ask.
